It’s plushies. Again. Can you really blame me given their adorableness?
This month’s featured Artist is Lisa from 5 orange potatoes with dozens of handmade plushies.
In her store she offers everything from moon pillows over narwhal plushies to stuffed bunnies, and, of course, a vast number of owl plushies with the most beautiful fabrics to choose from, floral pattern, the nightsky, zig zag pattern or dotted (and many more).
The owls come in different sizes, too, so there’s bound to be owls for everyone’s liking (currently 70(!) different owls to choose from).

By now it shouldn’t come as a surprise that of all things owlish, owl plushies and pillows are my favourite, and because it’s my birthday I give you owl plushies… again =P
This month’s featured artist is Christina Marrs, musician, mother of three,
and creator of owl plushies that can be purchased in her etsy store,
Her store features a very lovely range of owls,
small and large, sporting the cutest patterns.
In addition to the owls there’s a whole lot to choose from,
bunnies, dinosaurs, elephants, and squirrels to name but a few.
Back to the owls, have I mentioned that they are the cutest little things? Because they are,
with their zig zag, dot, and/or colourful patterns.

For this month’s feature I believe I’ve found something extraordinary.
Moonlight Mine deals with jewellery, this in itself isn’t extraordinary but the pieces of jewellery certainly are.
Not only are they beautiful in arrangement and colour, they change colour, too.
Each piece is made with hand painted and colour shifting stones that range from purple to blue, or vice versa, from plum to brown, red to orange and many more.
Did I mention that the pieces’ names stir every Whovian’s heart with themes like River Song, Tardis (blue necklace at the bottom), time lord, even Torchwood. Yes, I know. This is not a Doctor Who blog but since I’m a Whovian you’ll have to deal with it.

See the sixth picture? The one with the green bow? Yes? Good. Lovely, isn’t it?

The above featured products are made by Isi, the artist behind The Mystical Triangle Owl.
Now, let’s be honest. Most of us don’t have so much money as to throw it around. The products from The Mystical Triangle Owl have the huge advantage of being affordable with everything in the shop being priced no more than 3€.
But it isn’t the mere affordability that makes The Mystical Triangle Owl’s products outstanding. While this particular owl that features the products is a rather common motive thanks to the Stampin’ Up Owl Punch, it is the arrangement of owl and additional details, the colour scheme that made me fall in love with Isi’s works.

Featured Artist of the Month | December
You may have noticed by now that I can’t resist an adorable owl plushie/pillow,
of all the owly things out there owl cushions are probably my very favourite.
I’m sure it doesn’t come as a surprise then that this month’s featured artist offers a range of owl plushies (see image 1, 2, 3, 7 and 8). Yes, I’ve fallen in love. Again. So if someone out there wants to give me a christmas present… :p
December’s Artist Anna Jakob calls the small label Anna Golightly her own, a label she sells in her very own (real) shop in Hamburg, Germany.
Don’t worry, though, her products are available online as well.
Apart from the owl cushions many more plushies are available, all made by hand and with much love and care for details.
Personally, I find the music box owls (see image 1, 4, 5 & 6) a very smart idea but my absolute favourite, as you may have guessed already, are the cushions, asdfghjkl, I’m serious, someone get me one for christmas!

Before I start - someone buy me that stuffed pillow owl, no, seriously,

The lovely owl pillow I’m talking about (see the pictures above) is made by this month’s Featured Artist Emma Margaret, a 19-years old Illustration student located in the UK.
In her shop, Doodle Design, she offers a wide range of illustrated cards, prints & notebooks (let’s not forget about the pillow!).
What I like especially about her designs are the filigree details of her work,
and there’s always something new to discover.
I’d go so far as to compare it to a book, every re-read offers something new you haven’t noticed the last time you read it. Also, pillow!
With this artist you’re in for a treat, dear fellow owl-lovers.
Because, and that’s just another thing I really, really like, on her blog she shares her ideas, posts sketches, inspirational quotes, monthly wallpapers for your desktop, colour combinations, and images of her work process.

First of all I would like to thank the lovely Annya Kai again, thank you so much!

Unfortunately, I’m still not a millionaire but I found some more owls that would instantly be mine if I were.
Now, I don’t know about you but I don’t mind being called a nerd,
as John Green put it:
“Saying ‘I notice you’re a nerd’ is like saying, ‘Hey, I notice that you’d rather be intelligent than be stupid, that you’d rather be thoughtful than be vapid, that you believe that there are things that matter more than the arrest record of Lindsay Lohan.”
I like being a nerd. I like nerdy things. I like my nerd glasses. I like owls.
I like nerd owls; what are nerd owls?
Why, look at Heather’s adorable owls, those with glasses, nerd owls!
But wait, there is more!
Not only does she craft nerd owls (seriously, N E R D owls!) but pirate owls, mustache owls and ‘normal’ owls.
What I really like about the owl plushies is the choice of fabric, colourful, always fitting, never boring - also, nerd owls
If your budget is rather limited, do not despair.
Apart from the plushies there are owl magnets as well as owl sets available.
Owls are generally associated with wisdom. However, for many they depict beauty, too. This is certainly true in the case of this month’s artist, Annya Kai, whose owls are a regular guest on this blog;

If I had to pick a favourite… I’ll be honest, I couldn’t. I’m so in love with her peacock art that I included it in the compilation BUT her owls… would you just look at them? Adorable. Beautiful. Gorgeous. Amazing. *Insert any word with a positive connotation in here*
Annya Kai has an amazing eye for colours as her works (done with water colours, gouache and fine liner ink pens) prove.
And the best thing is, one (or several) works of her can be yours, there’s something for everybody’s price range since she offers not only her original work but also different-sized prints as well as postcards, buttons and mirrors.

Featured Artist for July/August - Heart Felt Design by Telah
With four children one has to be a night owl to manage two successful online shops as Telah McClary does. Not only does she sew the prettiest and most gorgeous owls, no, she also offers other forest friends as skunks, racoons, mushrooms, foxes and, very much in demand are her fluffy plush monsters.
Personally, though, I have fallen absolutely in love with her owls, be it her rainbow owls (you may remember them from this post), or her owls made from patterned fabric.
